can anyone help me identify this item, I am assuming it is something to do with turkey? ???

Well now, just from the picture it looks like a "decorator" tea kettle, a show/display item.
A tea kettle with that type legs would be impractable for use ..... unless there was an electrical plug on the back side (like a coffee pot), ........ or, .... it was used to put a "hot" liquid in (coffee, tea) and then placed on the table, a serving cart or a serving tray.
But I am just guessing.

I would say that's a very good guess. there normally called ( steeper's)

D&B, I thought of that after I had done posted, ..... that I should have stated "hot water" instead of tea. No one makes a pot of hot tea, ..... right.
I didn't know they were called "steepers", ..... that just has to be British.
