I was just given this object which I believe to be a French sniper periscope. I was told by the original owner that it is supposed to be from WWII. The only marking on it says SOCIETE D'OPTIQUE and below that BERTHIOT PARIS and below that something5-8055. it's in pretty good shape, optics still work and it has its original case. It's about 30" long. Anyone have any more info on it?
