Title: Navajo or Mexican blankets?

Right after WWII my late inlaws took a trip to Mexico.  I'm sure they traveled through New Mexico and/or Arizona getting there.  They brought back several blankets.  The blankets are wool and well woven.  They resemble Navajo blankets.  Is there any way to tell if they're Mexican or Navajo?  One is good sized.  Would a Navajo blanket dating in the '40's be worth anything?

yes navajo rug's would start at $500.00 dollars. size pattern & weave would determine value.
