Title: Pittston Happy Glow stove 1929
Post by: jarrettjags on October 06, 2008, 04:44:27 PM
Ok, whats this stove worth? I bought it on e-bay 2 yrs ago for 600 after falling in love with it. Its so beautiful, but I have to get rid of it and get a newer stove with a hopper. Any ideas?? It says Happy Glow on front and pittston stove co. 1929 on back. Thanks

I've found old wood/coal stoves to be a real enigma.  Asking prices are all across the board on Internet auctions and antique shops.  I paid $495 for a mint original Estate caboose stove and have seen prices for the same model in lesser condition from $2,000 to $100.  I think what's important are great pictures of your stove on Internet auctions (eBay).  If it fits into someones decor, someone will buy it.  One large pitfall is the weight.  It's a definite plus to live in a large metro area where someone could pick it up and not pay the outlandish shipping costs.
