??? This desk has been in my family for years, I think it was around when I was a baby and my mother would never get rid of it. She left it to me and now I truly don't know what it is or the date of the piece? Had one guy tell me it was not a desk but a vanity? It has cubby holes and a little drawer. It has very detailed wood on the drawers and turned legs and a top that comes down like a piano and when it is closed it sits pretty high. Anyone know what it is, what it is worth?

It's true you would find this piece of furniture in the bed room more often than not in the victorian year's. it's a women's desk designed by charles Eastlake. $800.00 to $1,000.00 Dollars.
