Title: Hello to the community.
Post by: aggopian on February 09, 2009, 06:34:11 PM
Hello everyone. I've been looing for a good antique forum. I have seen too many times where people will be taken advantage of when selling, or become frustrated with the abundant and sometimes flat out wrong information on the web. I have seen antiques of all kinds destroyed because people don't know who to trust. Recently I have taken to helping people identify and come to a valuation on items as best as I can. As a rule I will not offer to buy an item I only try to educate people as best as I can so whatever the item they have may be enjoyed by another. I hope this forum and the people on it can help me and my friends and neighbors so other wonderful items do not get kicked to the curb.

Just to be clear I am not offering a service just letting you all know where I'm comming from.

Thanx for reading and thanx for having me.

Very good advise. the web is full of in correct info. even some of the book's are carrying wrong info. but we as a group try very hard to give ''correct'' info.

if nothing more than putting together our resources.

Welcome aggopian! There isn't a day that goes by when we all can't learn something. You will find a good bunch here with knowledge and the willingness to share and learn.

Welcome....using an old saying...the more the merrier!  We have a good time here racking our brains and sharing our knowledge (sometimes more, sometimes less)!

As the old saying goes, ..... 2 heads are sometimes better than 1.

It seems everyone has their own "speciality" which comes in handy when resolving questions, .... welcome Aggopian.

Welcome.  Some really neat and some really odd stuff/antiques show up here.  I think it's a learning process, at least it's been that for me, regarding many of the items that appear here.  All opinions are welcome and if someone is way off base, we have the insurance policy of someone else jumping in.
