This is a friends chair. She git it from her mother but she was very young when her mom passed so doesnt have much to go on. I am not sure if the cloth was redone or if the color would have been original but all the cloth and even the underside cloth is free of rips and stains. I do not see any makers marks. She recently took a picture to an appraiser at an Atlantic City antiques gathering and the "appraiser" offered her $500 and free pickup. Seemed fishy so she declined. She doesnt really want to sell it she just would like to have a true value put on it.
I dont know the wood type but it is in good overall shape. It appears that there is a seam that runs from the back of the arms to the base that is coming apart but the chair is still solid.
My best guesis that it is a Louis XVI Bergere chair but beyond that I cant tell. I havent seen anything specifically like it in my searches.
If there is any info I can provide to help Identify this let me know.
Thanx in advance for your help.

The chair is a French bergere in style.it would sell at low end $ 1,200 to $1,500.00 Dollars. High end $ 2,500.00 Dollars.

Totally agree D&b. IT IS FRENCH! Find the right market or auction and the High end could go a tad bit higher!

Nice! Thanx ;D Had a feeling the "appraiser" was acting fishy. I will let My friend know. I don't thing she's going to sell it but numbers can make sentimentality disolve rather quickly. Thanx again for your confirmation.
