Title: Vintage Japan Teapot
Post by: annieb_2009 on February 22, 2009, 05:30:31 PM
Could anyone tell me what they might know about this tea pot?
It says Japan on the bottom. I have had it for 30 years and my aunt gave it to me had it for some time before that. Looking for a value if anyone might have any suggestions.

Looks like they are selling it.. first 25$ takes it.

They are referencing this post.. not a bad use of DB's appraisal.

It is ceramic, should I not be refering to this website when trying to sell it I can certainly remove that from my ad.

I don't know of any law saying you can't.  As long a people are well aware that the opinions and values given on this site are given by individuals (many with vast experience of the subjects) and not appraisers. (Thus cannot refer to it as an official appraised value).   If it helps you sell it....then win-win for you.

Seems to me by the reference of dontbe it was applauding D&b for his expertise!

Any others?

Think it's great to bring folks here , looking/adding/commenting and maybe even joining .

During my short sojourn here , it seems like many come here to get values/prices put on their items .

If people want to say "Hey , old Fred down at the barn said it's worth some dough !" ... who am I to stop 'em ? ( O.K. , so I'm an American capitalist piggy , for a minute .)

I'm also 100% with KCs' comments .

FYI, on this forum helping people get a correct value on their items, I got kinda interested in that gooseneck rocker that was up here a month or so ago. They used the $150 value as an asking price and put it up in an auction... and got $350 for it! He said they were very pleased and surprised!

Your use was appropriate Annieb. That not to say I would judge all others the same..
but so far I agree with everyone else's comments.
