Title: What are these?

My grandmother owns the two figures pictured here, and we're wondering the origin, history and/or estimated value of these beautiful objects. Are they Persian?

Are there any markings on the bottom?  If you can get a pic that would be better.

Need markings please!  I truly doubt they are Persian!
