Okay so I found this thing in my attic, not sure what it is. I don't know if its an antique anything I just want to know what it is because its been bothering me(I'm a little OCD sometimes). Anyways its this little doodad, there was about four of them of different sizes small to big. Are they just decorative or did they serve a purpose. There seems to be wear on the bottoms, so perhaps they were more then a decoration? Anyways i'm stumped! Ideas welcome!
Theres also a stamp on the side its kind of faded and says monument, theres a picture of it. :)

How about early tops type toys,,,is there a groove for wrapping a string around and spinning when you pull the string? Plumb bobs?
-
I would stick with the plumb bob idea...but there aren't any holes or way to suspend. Monument is a tool company that has been around for a very, very long time and does make plumb bobs. (One of my grandfather's was a carpenter and had lots of tools marked Monument.)
Ideas?

There's a groove on one of the "medium" ones, but just on the one. I kind of thought it was a spinning top toy but after countless atempts to make it spin and not fall over, I kinda gave up on that idea. lol

Thats really interesting about Monument tools!

Probably way off base but could they be a primitive device to measure the inside diameter of pipe?

Do any of the others show what is under the word Monument and the pic of the pillar....there is the beginning of a word that isn't showing up.
What are these made of? Wood?
They could be sizing cones!

I thought they looked to be made of a plastic or composite. And after racking my brain I decided they may have been used as an “auto-sealing” flow valve plunger (small end down) via the same principle as employed in one’s commode tank that permits the water to “flush out” and then re-close to permit the tank to refill with water. Just a guess.
