Title: identifying cake plate made in japan
Post by: cloverflower on October 16, 2003, 09:14:32 PM

I have a cake plate I want to identify.  It's very old but I don't know how old.  I bought it at an estate sale.

On the back there is in identifying mark that says PY with a circle around the letters.
Under the PY is the word "JAPAN" Under that there is a symbol. The symbol looks a bit like a C with an N ontop of it.

The front of the plate is a green back color with a white reaf.  Inside the reaf is a floral pattern with roses.  It is also decorated with gold.

PY
JAPAN
symbol

Thanks for any hints on how to identify this plate.
