i like the look of this bed but don't really know what it is and i don't want to spend too much -attached are some pics. They are asking $575 canadian - is that a fair price?

Also they have an English carved buffet for $495 - is that a good price.

The bed looks to be an authentic victorian piece.  If it's solid wood such as walnut, it's worth the asking price in my estimation.  Most antique shops will dicker on their asking price.  If you do decide to buy the bed, ask questions like where it came from, etc.  It never hurts to have any/some history on an antique.  Always check for repairs, damage, etc. before you open the wallet.  Always be on the lookout for reproductions.
