Title: help indentifying this peice with a year

hi i just bough an item at a flee market it is mark reed and barton 1765 i think it a waste bowl or planer is the 1765 the year or catalog number and what is the pattern name. i know i gotten a good deal i only paid 2.00 dols for it

yea that looks like a waste bowl, and the number is pattern number.  Sugar bowl sometimes looks like waste bowl but usually have a lip for the lid.  yours appears to be a waste bowl.  Yea and 2 bucks would be a good deal, kinda hard to resale though without all the set but there are collectors who pay a few dollars more.  It is a Reed and Barton and that usually has a bigger collector base, most Reed and Barton stuff I pick up will sale.  Good Score
