Title: Relish jar

This is my first post.And i hope this will be the first of many.
My daughter who is 9 years old,and myself have become interested in collecting old jars,bottles,as well as kitchenware.This is the first of several pieces that we found in some stuff my Aunt had in storage.

It has Relish written on it with the spoon attached to the lid.We would like to know about when it was made,as well as if it has any value,although she said she is keeping all that we find.It would be interesting to know a little about the stuff we found.Thanks for any help.

Welcome to the forum!  Are there any marks on the bottom?  It appears vintage to me dating around the '50's or '60's.  Jars and bottles aren't my speciality so I'm just guessing. ???

Thanks for the welcome railman.It does have a sticker on the bottom that says Japan,if that helps.

This is alot like the Howard Holt and Dolly Girls by the Menschik-Goldman Company condiments style that was around in the 50's to early 50's- very retro - very stylish - collectible.

Depending, value at $15 - $25.  (If you can find it in one of the collector's books it can even go so far as valuing $50+.)

No D&B...I am not going to correct you....you are nicely correcting me!  I also wrote "50's to early 50's"  Duh....I meant "50's to early 60"s".

Holt Howard is correct.

HH's works were done in Japan!  However, there were some knock offs....so you will have to find this particular style bearing his name or whoever....

Sorry Can't be of more help than that right now...but will venture to look some....

Thanks a lot KC.I don't see any marks on it so i would guess it is a ''knock off''.However,i do hope my daughter will cherish it for years to come,since it come from her great aunt.
