Title: Can anyone tell me about ths piece?

Any info on this piece would be welcome. What I was told that it is a hand carved English mahogany Chiffonier. I am having a hard time nailing down the age and what style it is exactly. Was led to believe that it is around 100 years old and in the Rococo style but I really have no clue. I would be great full for any and all help on this. Thanks

I don't believe I would call this a chiffonier - A chiffonier (or cheffonier) is a piece of furniture that the whole front is enclosed by doors.  Its french origin name (which means  "rag-gatherer").

Ok here is a pic of the carving at the top. A friend told me that it was Rococo Revival Etagere. That said they only know a bit more then I do, which as you can tell isn't much ;D. Anyway any thoughts would be welcome. I want  to get this for my wife but the person selling it can not really tell me anything beyond that it is old and I do not want to get riped off on the price. Thanks all.

It's a bout 120 years old. it's English Rococo. know as and etagere or what not stand.

I knew it was a beautiful seemingly older piece! Figured a etegere...but wanted the master to give his 2 cents worth!  (Thanks D&b)
Great conversation piece.  Bet it is fun to dust!!!! (not)

Etagere's (French word)  are similar to the "what-not" cabinets produced in English furniture!  May contain one closed door cabinet area or one drawer but is a series of open shelf work for display!
