While in an antique shop recently I was told by the owner that a steel and leather chair (Bauhaus style) was designed and produced by Gustav Klimt...his brief and only foray into furniture design.
Does anyone have any information on this or can anyone reccommend a search site?

Welcome to the forum , stephen .
Many of Klimts' works were duplicated/copied , so buying 'Klimt' pieces is a slippery slope .
Klimt first designed furniture for a Greek (Nikolas Dumba) man's music room in Vienna , in 1898 .
A pretty good primer for Klimt is at : abcgallery.com/K/klimt/klimtbio.html .... also some things at klimt.com .
I think you can find some info about the Nikolas Dumba commission at the 'abc' site ...don't quote me on that though ....
