Hi can anyone tell me if this is an authentic nippon mark its on the back of a small porcelain dish I picked up at a garage sale, I could only put back view of dish on post but can put face of dish if needed thanks.
also its unglazed on back except for 1/2" around edges.

Sounds and look like a Nippon mark which would date it between 1891 - 1921 after that it would be marked as Japan. It does appear to be a bit new looking. I would really like to see the top of the item also. I have found a few SK Nippon items and usually brings about a fair value in comparsion to most porcelain, not quite as good as Occupied Japan, but much better then japan ;D. Trying to find info on SK right now, I will poke about a bit more. Again it would be nice to see the rest of the item, this may help a bit.

Haven't seen one marked "Made in Nippon" it looks "new" to me.

I agree with KC it's a fake.

Yea I would say the colors looks way to vivid for the Nippon era, Since Nippon means Japan, most likely it was stamped to appear to be a older version of a japan made item. I would say you are looking at 60's or maybe 70's.
