Welcome to the forum , derekwatson ...
I just did a 'Bing' search , using the terms "wrought iron , n.y. city, scrap" and turned up quite a few in upstate N.Y. ....
-
No I am Not in NYC I live in N.C
-
What are you looking for , really ... could you clairify ?
Is it tons of scrapiron , or a few hundred pounds ?
Is it vintage , antique , or any type , etc. ?
Did a quick search in N. Carolina and came up with quite a few results .
BTW , the coolest wrought iron scrap I've seen is in the New Orleans area ...pricey , but can find some wonderful stuff !

Depends on what you need it for and how much. Makes more sense to get it closer to home if available!
Would like to know more specifics about what you need it for....then we can help you better!

Hey, interesting coincidence! My wife does that as well, as a hobby I mean. She takes apart old farm equipment, iron pieces, and the likes, then makes them into animals. Our half acre lot has tons of different animals, rather cool actually. She made a fence a while back with different pieces, very cool. Only problem... your yard gets full fast! She enjoys this art project though, so no problems here!
A tip: if you know anyone who has old farm equipment then that's the place to go. A killer to disassemble, but the pieces you get are wonderful. Lots of chains, too, which can be added to so many creatures.

Lux, can you post some photos of the creatures? I'd love to see 'em!!
