I can't tell who made the Bel Air model. It says A-4 on the bottom of the plastic base. The old fashioned automobile says Trademark Modern Toys Japan on the back. It has a lever that propels the car and works for a rear wheel that isn't secured.

I meant to say I can't tell who made the model car, but thanks.

Duh! That was about stupid of me. I should have realized that is what you meant. Having said that I don't believe it affects the value not knowing. Many makers of Japanese toys, but doesn't give you a specific maker.

One of my sons has a collection of cars like you have on top. They even produce them and sell them at Costco every Christmas....if yours is metal and attached to a plastic base by 2 screws then it is made within the past 10 years. Value $20 - $30.
Could you please post a clearer pic of the info on the 2nd car?
Thanks!
Tim...thanks for the grins! I probably would have said the same....glad someone things along the the same lines sometimes....makes me feel a little saner! :)
