Title: Can you identify this Dresser/Chest of Drawers?
Post by: Artistgew on October 13, 2009, 04:07:07 PM
See pics. The Brass Handle reads:

Pat NO D-246.690US Not sure if this relates to the dresser itself though. Or if that is just the patent number for the handles. Its pretty heavy wood, has a slight reddish tint so may be Mahogany. Not sure.

Thanks

Sorry I can't help you with info on the chest of drawers (newbie here), but I did find this info on the drawer pulls.  They must be replacements at the patent date states 1977. You can see a drawing of the handle for the patent by clicking the "Images" window above the patent info.

http://patft1.uspto.gov/netacgi/nph-Parser?Sect1=PTO1&Sect2=HITOFF&d=PALL&p=1&u=%2Fnetahtml%2FPTO%2Fsrchnum.htm&r=1&f=G&l=50&s1=D246690.PN.&OS=PN/D246690&RS=PN/D246690

I'm sure others will help you with information on your chest.  Welcome to the forum!

Sometimes it just seem's like we have to Ask endless question's. the person asking the question, most often know's very little about the object in question.

Design & construction in furniture are very important ''key's'' to age etc. :-\
