Title: Dog Opinions??

This was found at a old antique store in downtown Detroit.
Any comments,idea's, or opinions welcome.

OK, now that is one butt ugly dog!!! Could almost put it on top of a clock! :D

Looks more camel-ish to me  ;)

Curious as to what it is made of ?.  kinda looks wood or chalkware, but can't really tell.  Would look good next to my growing chalkware.  Got that gothic gargoyle looking going on too.

I think it might be chalkware.

Looks to me like lines left from a serrated edge, similar to a steak knife.....almost unfinished?

Too early in the morning and no caffeine yet......on the back between, 5 and 6 o'clock, right above that 'whitish' patch....
am I seeing letters/numbers??  :-\

It doesn't look to me to have the nose of a dog.

Setting here looking at the picture.It resembles the Montauk Monster which had a beak more so then a nose. Cryptozoology is not a hobby of mine. the paranormal is. hunting those ''Thing's '' that go Bump in the night ;D ;D ;D

the camel look's to be very likely. notice the structure of the teeth.

Hmmm... I beg to differ. Look at the "Roman nose" profile the camel has, the upper lip and the presence of a chin. But if not a dog or a camel then what 'th heck is it? Perhaps a highly aggressive sheep?!!

I still think it's a tiger ( can post the cranial formula for id-ing them , if anybody wants to see... ) .

.... or perhaps it's a tasmainian tiger .

Dean, this odd creature really has my fascination.  I tend to lean toward the last pic that regularjoe posted about the Tasmanian tiger.

Still laughing a about TOTSS post.

I got this, right in the heart of beautiful run down and corrupt downtown Detroit.

Although I have to admit Regularjoe's photo does bear a resemblance it would be a long way from home.
It's possible and I'm sure RJ knows his wildlife.

I guess the great thing about art is that it can have different meanings to different people.

I never even considered this was anything but a snarling dog with the artist catching the detail of the distorted face of anger.

Well it's been a real eye opener to hear all the different perspectives and gave me a lesson on thinking outside the box.

Been fun and thanks.
