Title: Carving on Wood Frame
Post by: ifs on October 23, 2009, 08:17:43 PM
Seems to be made of some type of resin and not an actual stone. The red part feels like a felt type of fabric. It's probably nothing too special, but if someone could possibly identify this and estimate a value that would be great. Thanks. : )

I believe what you have is a tourist souvenier from Mexico of the Aztec Sun Stone.

Picture is from this web site:

If it was an original hand carved stone original piece, the value would be healthy. As previously stated though, it's most likely a resin (plastic) casting with minimal value. :(
