Title: Old book
Post by: Staysee on October 26, 2009, 05:22:54 AM
My dad recently found a book from my nan

Its an old version of Little Dorrit, browny/red cover with gold writing on the front, only a word or two though.

It says inside that it has 8 illustrations, published chapman and hall, piccadilly.

Theres a page that we think may be from the book, but its just loose in the back which has writing on it saying '7 oct 1853' its someones handwriting, not part of the book and theres a siganature on the page too, we dont think its dickens tho, doesnt look like that

Printed by Virtue and Co Ltd.

Its a 'something' edition....but we cant make out what edition it is, writings a bit too old for my eyes aha

If anymore info is needed just ask!

I think you have an 1868 edition. Not worth a whole lot, twenty or thirty dollars perhaps. I think the writing on the front is supposed to be a gilt stamp of Dickens signature.
