Title: Claw Foot Bathtub - Information

hello i'm looking for any information about an old cast iron clawfoot bathtub i bought.

feet are off for refinishing.

Actually, there are still many around and can usually be purchased at a descent price in the 'as is' condition. Restoration is costly if your restoring for a home and they are heavy, as you would know by now. The last one I had, I cut out one side with a cutting torch and made a love seat from it. :D

What part of this tub are you refinishing? This isn't the kind of tub that the sides and bottom are exposed. It's a deck mount tub. The top flange or rim rests on top of the finished tub deck, such as tile or marble or whatever. The sides are covered by the skirt that goes around the tub and one side and an end are usually against a wall.

Agree with syl....can't believe it is a footed tub!
