Title: U.S. Military buttons
Post by: chigato on November 20, 2009, 11:42:27 PM
Hi, I have several of these silver buttons. The backs of each one is different as if hand soldered. I was wondering if anyone recognizes these as to how old they are ? Thanks.

Well Ive checked my Civil War references and they are not from that period, the search continues, have they been buffed or polished?  Okay its circa 1777 US Continental Army general service button, take a look at link below

Hi and thanks everyone. I finally worked  a bug out of my computer, well almost. Never click on a link from craigslist. Now that I can surf the net again, I was able to check my post. I must say I am surprised. They are in excellent condition and there are 2 different sizes, probably the smaller ones for the cuffs. I was wondering how to obtain a sense of value. I did try researching them on the web, but didn't get as far you guys. I wish I could finally help someone  else with something I might know something about.
