Title: FIGURINE LAMPS -
Post by: joensue on December 02, 2009, 08:38:21 AM
We have (2) sets of these lamps - these are the smaller of the 2.  Someone added felt to the bottom of the lamps so if there are any markings I cannot access them without removing the felt.  They both are in working condition and are extremely heavy.

Should I remove the felt to get to the markings on them? If anyone knows, please tell me.

I was just looking up this topic. If you go to ebay and put in figurine lamps many come up. You can compare.

If the item is heavy metal you can't do any harm removing the felt to view the bottom.  Place the item on a "damp" towel and see if it will loosen the flet without harm to the felt or lamp.

Another great place to look is up at the neck of the lamp - near the bulb socket....any markings there?

Have seen some similar to this and they were from the 30's to 40's and there are repros out there.
