Title: Want info on old travel trunk
Post by: bloobell on January 09, 2004, 03:38:26 AM
We have an old travel trunk with an emblem on it that reads "Romadka Ready Access patented April 1904 Milwaukee Romadka Bros." and on the same tag to the right it has a coat of arms with a trunk in the upper left hand corner, a steam engine in the upper right hand corner, a ship in the lower left hand corner, and a what appears to be a bag(looks like an old peice of luggage made of cloth or leather with a handle). The cross bars that separate each section of the coat of arms reads "TRADE  MARK", horizontally, and vertically we think it reads, either "TRUNKS & BAGS" or "TRUNK & BRASS".  There is a tag on each side that reads"Charles E. Burns Mason City, Iowa, C. HOTEL Wheeler"  as if it were being shipped to this person.  Just want some history on this peice and/or person if we can get it.  Would like to refurbish but  not sure if it would destroy the peice.

Thanks for your time!!! Bloo & J
