I agreed to buy a Hoosier for $150 off Craig's List sight unseen based largely on the pictures (attached). the owner wanted $150 which i thought was a good deal. He did state that the glass was replacement, there was a large red stain on the counter top but everything else appeared original. Based on the pics I was a bit concerned that top and base didn't match. I have scoured the net looking for pics of a similar cabinet with no luck. Can anyone identify the manufacturer and give me an idea of its value. I would love to find a pic of a similar cabinet for historic restoration. Thanks all

It's worth about. $350.00 Dollars as is.But the enamel cabinet top is missing.

Agree with D&b....and the much needed topper is missing!

Any guess as to the manufacturer? I realize there are many companies which many models. I hoped a reader had one similar and might offer at least a guess. I take it by your responses that you feel the cabinet is original and not a reproduction in part. Thanks so much for your time responding. w

Does that Hoosier have a metal identification tag on it?
-
No it doesn't have a tag. I scoured Craig's List nationwide (a suggestion I found on this forum) today for about two hours looking for an example that was even similar. No luck. I was amazed at how many are available and the range of prices. I'll keep looking. Thanks

bootjack, don't know if this will be any help to you but give it a go. Copies of original advertisements for hoosiers.

Also, their page "Show Us Your Hoosier"

You can also do a search for hoosiers and find other sites that restore and sell them. Maybe you can come across some info that will provide you with answers.
