I have a pair of ceramic Chinese figures for wall hanging with a label: American Art Industries Brooklyn, hand painted. I can find out nothing about this company or any comparables that I can use to evaluate their age or value.

These type of items were popular in the 40's to 50's and yours were most likely imported.
In great shape would be about $15 - $25 for the pair.

Thanks for your reply. You're saying that the company in Brooklyn was just an importer?
-
I have checked all of my sources and came up empty.
There were/are so many importers of items and with NY being and area that was well known for intake of foreign made items...that is my best guess.
Maybe someone else will chime in with something to the contrary....
I really can't tell if from your pic if it is older or a newer repro.
Either way...can't find any designation of a company with that name.

I agree with KC That this company was probably an importer from many sources. I would try to contact the Brooklyn Historical Society they may be able to help you track this companies history or point you in the right direction. http://www.brooklynhistory.org/visitor/contact.html
good luck and let us know what you discover

Thank you for your help. I know the items date from the 1940's-50's, as I know they've been around the house since then. I will see if the Historical Society knows of the organization.
