Can an Edison Standard Phonograph play both wax cylinders and amberol cylinders?
-
I found my answer. I tried to delete my post but I don't think I can...

I didn't know what an "amberol cylinders" was so I Googled it and learned something new today. That means I will have a good day.
Anyway, I found out that some will and some won't.
To wit, a short read: http://cylinders.library.ucsb.edu/history-amberol.php

The seller said this particualar one will play them and they will send me one amberol with it. I guess I have lots of research to do. Thanks for the link cogar. I am now the proud owner of my very first Edison Phonograph. I realized afterward that I am definitely a newbie and it doesn't have a horn crane or stand. Too late now. Everyone on ebay wants a fortune for one and I just spent a small fortune. :o
I'll just have to find one after I receive it. I want an original stand.

It must have a Morning Glory horn if it requires a horn crane and besides a crane should be easier too find than the horn itself.

Yeah, it comes with the big black Home style horn. Not the standard smaller metal one. The link a little further up shows pics of the one I got.
