Saw this and asked myself why would someone pay this kind of money.
Amazing to me. I wouldn't of offered $25. for it.
Any thoughts on what I'm not understanding on this?

Guess if I had a Trillion Dollar bank account I may consider it for about 6 sec. Then I would probably by a couple million pieces of pink Glass instead :D. So I don't think I would pay that, pretty amazing though.

For 104 mil., you'd think it would at least be attractive! BLAH!

I guess somebody knows something that we don't.

I would have been disappointed that it didn't sell for more..........Nah!
That's someone without a better idea where to spend their money!

The winning bidder just wanted to spend some stimulus money to stimulate the art market.

Almost typical of the art world fanatics with more money than common sense. ::)

Just think how grateful the people of Haiti would be with 104 million.
Something is way wrong.

LOL Great idea.
I'm thinkin the new owner is one of those 'deserving recipient's' of the government's (taxpayers) 'bailouts' designed to help us poor folk out.

Wonder where Sotheby's got their appraiser from on this one.
He/she was only off by 75 million + ::)

Well , it is a rather famous piece .
104 does seem a bit much , though .
Sounds a bit like a whizzin' contest tween rich folks , don't it ?
Just goes to show you can buy style , but not class .

Love the thread on this! Even if I had the money....wouldn't have spent it on this.
Chances are it is a very wealthy collector. Would be nice if it was a gallery/museum so all could see and make remarks about how much was spent on it throughout the years! :)

Yea, I might just pay $20.00 just to see it and Uhhhh and Ahhhhh it wonderful Form :o
