Title: Advice for old sawmill equipment
Post by: trav-man on February 16, 2010, 04:00:39 PM
Hi! I recently purchased what used to be the main sawmill for this area. I have what was used to sharpen the huge blades for an old sawmill. The sawmill has been out of operation for over 35 years. It stands about 5 1/2 feet tall. It is heavy, and made of steel and wood. Where would I find a value for this before I try to sell it, and is it even worth more than scap weight? It looks like it would even work good still with a little cleaning. I also have a massive planer that I would like to sell. Any info is apprieciated. Nice site! Thanks.

I would think it would be very difficult to sell something that large.  Just the cost of a low-boy, semi tractor and crane would be astronomical.

Why don't you take some pictures of this thing and post them? Sounds interesting.

Now if that is in decent shape you should be able to find a buyer for.
