It says on the back in pencil, This was Charly Sheltons Sugar Scoop. How old you think it is ? Were these used around the house or were they used commercialy by stores ?

Probably used in a store. You rarely would need to scoop that much sugar at home but would use it daily in a general store. Probably early 20th century?

Agreed - Probably right around 1900. Pretty clearly not hand made. Highly collectible. What is the length of it? Very nice to have it marked on the back.

WAY nice! It would be fun to try to research who Charlie Shelton was! If you knew where the scoop came from, I bet you could locate his store in an old City Directory.

There is another place that could have been used....a bakery or fine hotel w/a chef! They did have those long ago!

Thanks for the feedback everyone this is great site. I have so much stuff laying around I could post a picture every day for a year probably,LOL. Its around 13.5" long and 4.5" wide. I might start searching for Charly it would neat if I came up with a find.
