Post by: onefunmudder on March 08, 2010, 06:00:47 PM
Hello everyone,
In this picture the lady has her left arm resting on an object that is unknown.
Can anyone help Identify it please.

Thanks OneFunMudder

Looks like an urn of some type. My first thought is that with the carrying handles tied to it, the hanky in her hand and her sad expression, that perhaps it could be an urn carrying the ashes of a loved one. That is just speculation on my part.

Defnitely some type of urn as talesof stated.

I was thinking for water and that she was tired/worn out with the life one lived and had to tote water back and forth for usage!

Welcome to the forum , onefunmudder .

I sure would help to view the complete urn .

It may be a functional one , in a 'tipping/pouring' stand .

One more thought to post in this thread -

Perhaps the item in question is a large 'swinging' incense censer (cauldron) .

Such items are used in churches , often with long chains & swing radius .

Many have dual swinging handles (bails) to help keep the censer upright & stable while in motion .

These babies could really smoke the place up !
