Title: I can't identify this bowl...
Post by: sallybee on March 08, 2010, 07:46:24 PM
I've searched for several hours online trying to figure out if this is a Murano glass bowl and can't find anything similar enough to give me a clue. I found this at the Goodwill and would like to sell it if it is of value.  It's very large; approx. 14.5 inches across.  Any insight would be greatly appreciated. TIA

Welcome Sallybee and thanks for sharing such a wonderful Bowl.  I have seen some Murano glass, don't think I've touch any yet though  ;D.  Without any marks this could be a hard task to prove one way or another.  What I do know Is I had one kinda like that style but plain white.  I posted it on Ebay and it sold right away.  Making me wonder if I sold a Murano now.

Well, as I said, I cannot be certain if it is indeed a Murano Glass bowl. I'm not even sure how old it is but when looking at it, it seems to me to have a distinctive Art Nouveau feel to it. It also has a very smooth base which perplexes me (although I've had other vintage items that had a new looking base).
