Title: Dumpster-Dive Dead Artist
Post by: regularjoe2 on April 11, 2010, 06:26:43 PM
Here's one freebie that caught my eye today (good thing , too) sitting alongside of a local dumpster .

Original watercolor by Elisabeth Warhanik (1880 - 1968 ) , a listed & well known early Seattle artist .
Impressionistic botanic/still life , around 20" x 14" , signed in image , titled on back of painting .

Image is of painting & frame in 'as found' condition , plus a quick wipe-off of the glass .

Goes to show , one mans' trash .....

Really Nice find for sure.  Did you know who it was made by before you picked it up?  Just curious about that eye of yours ;).  I have thought a few times to look through the paintings in the thrift shop, many do, but my eye for that is years away, still have to work up to Furniture first  :-\.  Once again great find.

Friendly advice from a fellow Dumpster Diver. it has been brought to my attention. possession is 9/10 tenths of the law. this is in the favor of the rat that often takes up residence in the dumpster.

Nice find !

Any profit is nice but that one sale that KC posted would make a HUGE profit on your find regjoe!  It just doesn't get much better than that!
