Title: iron and brass bed

i am buying an iron bed with brass accents and a mirror medallion. It needs some repair and I can't find any parts! Also, the lady at the antique store told me that footboards used to be higher than headboards. Is this true? Thanks for any help, I believe the bed is from the late 1800's. If anybody knows a good supplier of brass finials,bars,collars and caps I would be eternally grateful.

:o cindylou are you sure what you're buying? the footboard is alway's lower then the head board.
