Title: 3 pieces of glass...any ideas?
Post by: up2no6ood on May 12, 2010, 06:25:37 AM
Found these in my mothers estate. They look like they were to a lamp but I have searched high and low and cant find anything similar.

My first inclination was a lamp....however, was there a plate also with it?

Could have been a more "casual" tier server!  Large base on bottom, plate on top, "vase-like" piece next, medium plate then, smallest piece of slag, then small plate and bolted through all with a single rod.

Could those parts or some of those be onyx rather than slag glass?  I am voting for lamp parts also.

Yes, up2no6ood, it looks like you may have nailed it!  Any chrome parts lying around?

Akro Agate was noted for making glass pieces with those "swirls" in it and was also a big producer of marbles.

If you find a marked piece the "mark" will be "a crow flying through a capital A".

Akro = "A crow"  ;D

So, its possible those above pictured pieces were made by Akro Agate but probably are not marked as such if they were.
