Title: Railroad jack oak handle
Post by: reniegreg on May 13, 2010, 09:27:26 AM
Another interesting find, I acquired a railroad jack handle in a trade.  About 5 1/2 feet long, as big around as a mans arm.  I tried to take a pic of it it, but it just looks like a long piece of wood.  I'll have to try again with something in it for scale. I've seen tons of jacks for sale and sold, but never a handle for them.  Any info would be great to have.  It would make one heluva baseball bat for Andre the Giant!

Thanks again!

Sapphire, I think he just has the wood handle and not the whole jack.  I do not know if there would be any value in a handle without the jack.  Maybe a RR collector can comment.

If it has a RR logo stamped on or in it ......it will sell.

My Bad.  ;)Guess I should have asked if that was the type of handle he meant.  Found several jacks without handles so jumped on the first 'equipped' one.  It does have a definite baseball bat shape....have to be some mighty slugger to swing it though. ;)

Yup, similiar to that one, just shaped different.  I do have a jack as well, too.
