Title: Old or vintage? Wooden boxes.. part 2
Post by: tngal_2010 on June 11, 2010, 02:24:51 PM

Hello Again,

2. Second wood box says "hand carved from Mexico"; tag inside says "Industrias Zarebski s.a. and "made by hand from semi precious stones.  The "carving" looks like an Aztec or indian or something like that. Sorry I'm not very good at identifying it.  The carvings are on top, front, and sides. The lid comes off. Inside is the same wood as top.  Measures 7" x 5" and 2 3/4' deep.

Thanks for your help.

Jean

Mayan could also be a possibility for the designs, as bothe the Aztec and Mayans had civilizations in Mexico.

INZA Industrias Zarebski SA was founded by Michael Zarebski in Cuernavaca Mexico in 1963.  Many items are in resins, woods and semiprecious stones.  Decorative items.
