Title: stimpson coputing scale

I have a scale I have been trying to get info. about. Printed on the scale it says Stimpson Computing scale Co. Louisville KY. Patents Allowed 28349 others pending. I got into a websight for patents and typed in 28349 and it says it was registered in 1860. But I don't know if those numbers are the patent or if that's how many they allowed for that scale. I can't find anything about the company or the scale. If anyone knows anything, I would apreciate your help.

:D you are correct' they worked until about 1910. a scale such as yours has sold at auction for a $100.00 dollars.
