A 1954-dated oil-on-silk painting from Okinawa (original mahogany frame not pictured) 13"X18"- 1 buck.
It needs a light cleaning and mahogany frame has some slight shrinkage, but is not as ugly as many of these I have seen.
A pair of canaries (pretty current vintage, I'd guess) by Royal Crown- 2 bux.
No defects.

Good Score for sure Sara, got to love the deals. If I remember correct you are here in the N.W. also.

Thanks ironlord.
Yes, I am in the sea-tac area too.

I LOVE the canaries! They would look wonderful in my new aviary room. I'm painting the walls dark yellow and it will have my canaries and all my finches. Everyone is saying I'm crazy for turning a whole bedroom into a gigantic bird cage but I have a method to my madness!

SF, can you post a closer pic of the markings on the canaries?
If they are the ones I think they would sell for $35 up.
Nice finds!

KC, if you magnify the image of the mark you will see it's not the mark I think you are thinking of, but thanks for thinking of it!
I see birds like these once in a while on ebay, rubylane and so on going for $14-$30 + shipping.
I don't know the year of manufacture, though.

Great picture! I was stationed there for a short time. The island in the background looks (to me) like Ie Shima. If so it is about five miles away.

You're right about the background island, jondar.
That's a bingo!
