Title: Old Goggles with Removable Lenses
Post by: AllMightySmiter on July 20, 2010, 02:54:06 PM
Hey I recently bought a pair of goggles, usually I'm good at find out information on the internet but I'm having a hard time. These goggles don't have any markings and I don't even know what they'd be used for. They have an aluminum frame (I think), orange/yellow lenses, and I think the previous owner changed the original straps to sewn on shoe laces. Also, I found out after I bought them that the sides of the frame come up and the lenses can be removed. Any info regarding these would be great even what they were used for. Also, I'm a newbie to the forum so tell me if I need to change anything.

If I'm not mistaken, those are ski goggles from the 1970's. I had a pair like that when I was a kid. Flexible plastic with ventilation holes to help keep them from fogging up... kinda.

Welcome to the forum , AllMightySmiter .

I'm wondering if the lenses are glass or plastic ?

They are plastic. Also, thanks talesofthesevenseas, I will look into ski goggles.
