Came across this on my local Kijiji site and would love to be able to pass some info along to the seller.
32" x 22" top made of one solid piece of hardwood
14" high
No makers mark or signature that they have found
Eagle clutching American flag and a fish in each talon
They don't know anything about it but feel that there must be someone out there that would. Consequently
they haven't been able to put a price on it.
Any input that I can forward would be appreciated.

Wow, that's amazing. It looks genuinely old to me, hard to fake that patina and wear. If it's really old, I see something like that being worth $1,000 in an auction, maybe more depending on the actual age. Curious to see what others say!
I was gonna try to count the stars to determine age, but I think I counted 53. So that doesn't help. :P

I think it is more of a folk art piece...but it does look old.
Some interesting info for mulling over

The main/staple food of bald eagles is fish!

I agree with KC that this is more of a folk art piece with the design put on by the owner or a local craftsman. Desireable due to the design and it does look old. I would guess before 1900 but hard to tell from just a pic of the top. The construction of it may lead to a better determination of age. I think the number of stars are just a design element more than anything else.
