I have recently found this desk chair. A tag on the back of the seat is from “chass Nathan Inc, Office Equipment, New York”. The Ring on the height adjust mechanism says "Milwaukee chair co pat Oct 20 1914". The chair is very heavy and made of oak. Does anyone have a guess about age (Patent Date doesn't really say much about age) and rarity? Does anyone know about the Milwaukee Chair Co or Nathan Office, history?

Know that this company was in business in 1930....according to the White-Orr's Classified Business Directory for New York:
Nathan Charles S., 546 Bway, Office Appliance & Equipment Co.
Also...in 1876 a John Nathan & Son had a office supply/musilage (paste) company in NY/NY.

Believe Nathan was an office supply store where Milwaukee Chair Company actually made the chairs!
Only Info I can find is that Milwaukee Chair Co was in business late 1800's through 1940's.

I have a similar Milwaukee office chair painted puke green waiting refinishing in my garage. It has been waiting for about 7 yrs now. Paid $5 for it at a local sale. I would guess its' age to be in the 30s or 40s.
