Title: Attic find (Part 4) Pink glass tray and candlesticks
Post by: brenuk on August 10, 2010, 02:59:53 AM
Hi,
We have come across a pinkish glass tray and two candlesticks, there are no markings. Any information would be great.
Thanks in advance

Depressions glass - one of the others will be much better about the manufacturer!

Nice tray especially!

I'm having trouble finding that exact pattern, but yes it looks like a really nice one. I believe it's a smaller tray, right? Most likely intended to be a vanity tray with matching candlesticks like this depression glass set that sold for $150:

Here's a couple of similar depression glass vanity sets:

Being a Pink Glass collector, I was all but drooling on my keyboard.  I did look around all my Depression era books and did not locate the pattern.  My first guess is a Hazel Atlas, based on style and those feet.  Next choice would be a jeanette.  I may be able to look more a bit later for you.  You for sure have a wonderful part of a vanity set, very unique to say the least.  This would be a prize amonst any of us pink glass collector shelves.   Another funny thing about this post is I just minutes ago took some pictures of the candlestick holders and bowls just like the set Tales just posted, it appears I'm missing lids.  Anyway I would begin looking into Hazel Atlas, not going to bet my pink glass on that, but I think I smell Hazel.

My inclination as well ironlord that it was Hazel Atlas......but it is unique!  Like it!  Believe that it is either a part of a vanity set as well...just missing some pieces!

That's a pretty nice looking tray so it could be Cambridge or Heisey.

Heisey marks are sometimes really tuff to see.

Wanted to get this copied before I forget where I found it. Ironlord likely already knows about this site  ;) but thought it would come in handy for this thread.  A lot of clicking and reading, but it might lead to some answers.

Could be the photos, but Tales pink set looks like Satin Glass, maybe Fenton or Tiffin?  I'm going to look through my books too.
