cee-jay, as you can see from the links below the asking prices are all over the map. I think there are a lot of factors involved
here. Style, condition, location, market and expectation.

Really nice matched set of parlor chairs.
Is there damage on one of them? Seems the last close up pic has some damage or discoloration to the wood?!?!?!?
Any markings on the undersides? Original stuffings? (Horses hair?)

No The wood is fine, that was from the flash on my camera.
I have looked under the chairs and I find no markings and it looks to be the original fabric.
anything I should be looking for? I dont see any horse hair.
Thanks

I also see what KC mentioned. The left hand 'post' (as it's facing you) appears not to have the carved detail that the one on the right does (line from top to bottom and stylized 'leaves' running down either side). Curious ::)

Glad my eyes aren't totally going sapphire! LOL
It appears that at some point there has been a repair to your chair from the last pic. Although they did a great job in matching the outline of the piece. Unfortunately the wood used is different and the detail that the original artisan painstakingly carved into the chair was not done. This will affect the buyer of this piece - a die hard will not be interested. However, they are still a beautiful set.
In my neck of the woods, $150 - 250.

WOW from the picture it does look like that, funny I didn't notice that, I'll look at it on my lunch hour.
Thanks

Could anyone suggest a good reference book on Eastlake style furniture?
