Hi - I received this set of carving knives from my grandmother. I cannot find any info about them on the internet. It says they were made in Germany and in a very old lined box. The handles are carved with ivory. Anyone have any info?

Are you able to post some pictures? Pictures would help a bunch! :)

Kimmel made cutlery that usually had antlers/bone for handles.
Kimmel Solingen Stainless made in Germany - Many were made for export. Popular in 50's.

Kimmel appears to often be grouped under the heading of Solingen, which was/is evidently a center for flatware and cutlery manufacturing in Germany. Prices are all over the place, but if your set is made with bone handles and is in excellent condition, it's probably worth somewhere in the neighborhood of $200-$300.

Solingen is a city in West Germany.

Well, western Germany anyway. ;) :)

Could you please post a picture of your set and the box? Thanks!
