Title: Does anyone recognize this hallmark?
Post by: lewmel on October 12, 2010, 10:28:17 PM
I picked up a set of what i think are Pewter mugs, but am not quite sure they maybe ArmetaleŽ. This shape mug seems to be very popular and I would like to figure out the maker so I can authenticate them.  Any help would be appreciated!

I'm afraid these are modern. They are available at Renaissance Faires, thrift stores and are very common. Usually about $1 to $3 at the thrift store, as much as $9-ish at a Ren Faire. Very popular with reenactors because of their old world styling. You can cool their metal by submerging them in ice water, then filling them with beer. Great on hot days when you're wearing tights and a leather jerkin.  :o

Thanks,
I thought they may be modern but I wasnt sure.  They were a yard sale find.  5 bucks for a set of 4. When I tried to find them, I couldn't find that TR hallmark anywhere.
Thanks for the input I do appreciate it!
