Title: Germany US Zone
Post by: Wendi on May 03, 2004, 01:10:24 PM
I have four plates that are white with a lacy lattice work around the edge of the plates.  They are about 5 inches, and around the floral center flowers are small flowers (6).  On the back of the plates they are marked Germany US Zone underneath a side view of a lion standing on his rear legs.  They are all numbered 26.  Does anyone have any information on these plates and maybe what they are worth.  Thanks

Wendi:

items with the lacey edge, are called "reticulated".  For your fruit plates, may I suggest:

www.efineantiques.c om  (cut & paste)

There are many, and not all are directly attributable to a specific company.  Also, if you want to run a google, do so as  --  reticulated fruit floral plates  Germany  --  KB

Hello......."Germany US Zone" makes them circa 1945-49. The only one that comes to mind is Bayreuth. They made more than figural items especially during the war. There logo is also a side view of a lion on his hind legs......but a photo would help as there are  many others............. Respectfully....... ..Tim B)
